Been wanting to write but I wasn’t sure what to write. Maybe I shall write about some world affairs and my thoughts.
I saw this article and I found it to be rather ridiculous.

Nowadays, with wireless headphones being so accessible at all price ranges, there is simply no reason not to own them if you do not want to engage in the external world. This means that you would be able to filter the external world using these headphones.
The definition of public transport means it is a shared mode of transport used by many people. People are pushing their very idea of how people should behave in public. For example, train etiquette in Japan meant that it is courteous to not talk on the train so that people have a quiet ride.
A public train is not a library?
Are we becoming a society where every action must be spelt out properly and be well defined? Park your bicycle only in the yellow box, smoke only in the yellow box, clear your table after eating, and recycle your drinks are some examples of new “action rules” that govern our actions in Singapore. I feel that Singapore ministers are getting “dumb” in trying to implement rules that define their norm.
In the case of loud noise in the bus, I would think that they are usually “situation-based”. It could be a result of a parent letting their child use their phone (you cannot expect headphones on young kids, nor expect parents not to use the magic of the phone) to calm them. I’ve also chanced upon many passengers who have obvious mental issues and who like to play music out loud. Occasionally, some old people play TikToks or YouTube over their loudspeakers for a short video.
End of the day, if a passenger is sensitive to sound on the train or bus, they should just wear their headphone and mind their own business. Please do not add another rule for the public to adhere to.
