It’s almost like a yearly event where Singaporeans get to view Sakura  without travelling out of Singapore. Gardens by the bay have managed to grow and plant Sakura everywhere and showcase it.

This year, the event lasts from 22nd March to 21st April. This is even longer than the actual cherry blossom in Japan and Korea that only lasts around 2 weeks per area.

The usual main exhibition area

This year, the exhibition incorporated a slightly more Japanese element than previous years. There are slightly lesser Sakura as well. I definitely remember there were more Sakura that you can use as the background last time.

Paper cranes

When you enter the garden, you are first greeted by cranes hanging in the ceiling of a tunnel. ( Not sure how to phrase it). This is something new that U have not seen before.

Traditional tea appreciation ceremony

There are lots of ongoing events and I chance upon the tea appreciation ceremony. Do check the timing of the events before visiting.

Japan armour

There was a “temple” exhibition and it had armour inside. Feels like they added something random inside.

Probably the spot with most sakura

I was checking out the website before I typed this post and feel that the website is largely exaggerated. Read it with a pinch of salt. Generally this exhibition is similar to all other exhibitions, 1 exhibition at the door and another bigger scale at the bottom floor where you generally walk 1 round.

I came here on a weekend morning and the crowd looks manageable. Generally, I think it’s a nice place to come to see something different if you are stuck in Singapore (my kids are too young to travel).

Do visit before the Sakura ends
