The first Shilin pop up market has appear in Singapore for the first time. This market is hosted at The Ground @ Kranji (Singapore Turf Club) over two weekends fromn April 19-21 and 26-28 from 3 pm to 11 pm.
This pop-up market features artisan shops, craft stores, arcade games stalls, live performances, and movie screenings and many food.
Before you enter, we were greeted by the long queue of car to enter the place. The carpark charged us $3 per entry.
After you reach, you are required to walk another 10-15 minutes before you actually reach the compound. They enclosed the whole space such that there is only 1 entrance.
The funny thing was there was no bag check. Feels like there should be a bag check for such a large events.
I am just glad that I did not prebook any tickets from Klook. If I had bought any of the food vouchers, I would need to spend 1 hour queuing to place order for the food and 1 hour to get the food. The reviews seemed to suggest 2-4 hours of queuing.
Overall, every thing was long queue. Also, I felt that only some stores was unique to Taiwan (Which causes an even longer queue). The rest of the food are Jiu Xian, Gongcha, Playmade, Hao Da Da Ji Pa where you can just buy from other places.
Singapore National Hobby is literally queuing.
Also, it started raining when I visited. The queue in the image was the collection queue for the chicken cutlet. Hmmmm…..
I went back to Tiong Bahru to buy the same chicken cutlet. No queue.
