It was our wedding anniversary and me and my wife decided to do a staycation at a local hotel since we cannot really travel. We considered browse for a few affordable hotel before deciding on the M Social Hotel. We decided to splurged on their loft premier suit, which is a 2 storey room. If we are doing a staycation in Singapore, we should try to stay in a more”special” place.
The room cost me approximately $268 with breakfast included. We book directly on their website as we read that some people have issues when booking on 3rd party sites. (Unverified fact so take with pinch of salt)
When we reach the place, we were quite shock that there was a queue on a normal Wednesday afternoon.
Nevertheless, check-in was done rather smoothly and we received 2 card keys.
We also booked the gym. The gym is available for booking on a hourly booking basis and we booked abefore we headed to our room. We came back to level 1 subsequently to collect the gym pass before we head to the gym.
The gym is rather small but has a few treadmill and a decent range of dumb bell as well as a multi-purpose gym machine.
The pool is available as well and can fit up to 10 pax. The hotel does not actively monitor number of guest in the pool but warn guest to visit the pool based on discretion. I noted that the pool is quite small and not really for people to swim. It is probably only good to soak and dip for a while.
We walked for 15 minutes to “Central” to have our dinner and pack some supper.
The TV in the room supported screen mirroring, airplay and Chromecast. However, it seemed to have a time limit as you need reconnect after a while. I used my own HDMI cable instead to prevent any disconnection.
There are shampoo, body wash, conditioner and body lotion. There are also tea bags and Nespresso for grabs
The next day, we headed over to “beast and butterflies” for our breakfast. I do think it is quite bad and people should just head out to have breakfast. We took the American breakfast and it was quite bad. I can barely taste mushroom in a mushroom omelette and the sausage tasted like it’s boiled in water.
I saw other people ordering cereals and I noted that the cereals are still in their box. The kind of cereal found in NTUC.
I do think it is worth staying at M Social. There are many restaurants outside the hotel and the price of the hotel is quite affordable. We even upgraded our hotel to the premier loftwith breakfast and it only cost us $268. The cheaper room cost $100++ and it might be a good place for staycation. There are good resturant nearby, swimming pool and a passable gym.
Nevertheless, after staying here once, I would be looking for another hotel to stay for next staycation.
